Deva Gaura Hari das is an initiated disciple of His Holiness Jayapataka Swami, and grand-disciple of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedants Swami Prabhupada, the founder of the Hare Krishna movement.
He completed a degree in science, with biochemistry major after high school, then spent several years searching for spiritual meaning in life, before joining the Hare Krishna movement in 1994 at age 25.
After 5 years as a brahmacari (celibate monk) living in the temple, he married in 1999 to Hari Prana devi dasi. They now have four children, and live in the holy abode of Sri Mayapur in West Bengal, the headquarters of the Hare Krishna movement.
Deva enjoys making music and writing spiritual perspectives on current issues, and this blog is a way to share these with devotees and friends.
